Music
Music is a big part of Canyon Creek Day School. Movement to music, singing, choral speaking, rhythm activities and rhythm instruments are especially emphasized. Music class also incorporates drama and voice projection. Preschool and Pre-K students participate in holiday performances. Kindergartners present a spring play and a graduation musical.
Spanish
The children are exposed to the excitement of a new language through the use of puppets, tapes, slides and flannel board cutouts. They will learn nouns, phrases, numbers, and many songs. This is available to all ages.
Introduction to Technology
We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity of Computer Education to all three, four and five-year-olds. The Technology Coordinator schedules children, teaches basic computer, IPad, and keyboarding skills. The coordinator keeps individual progress records and selects appropriate programs and apps. She stays in close communication with the child's classroom teacher, acting as a tutor to improve certain academic skills.
