Claire Tubbs

In reflecting back over 50 years at Canyon Creek Day School, it might be correct to say that
Canyon Creek Day School is a philosophy; a way of thinking. It is world class teachers firmly dedicated to the enhancement of self-esteem, the acceptance of individuality, the promotion of sharing and caring, and the generation of excitement in learning.
It has been this common purpose, and commitment to be the best, which is shared by the staff and passed to the children, that keeps families returning. I am now seeing our grown-up prior students registering their children, and I know we have made a difference in the lives of so many.

In Memoriam

In July 2020, our founder Claire Tubbs passed away. Claire served as our mentor, inspiration, and guiding light for over 50 years. She influenced and touched so many lives, from teachers and staff, to the many children and families who passed through our school.

We will all miss Claire tremendously, but we take comfort in knowing that her spirit and commitment to excellence remain alive at Canyon Creek Day School. She leaves the school in the hands of her daughter, Alicia Webb, granddaughter, Madeline Webb, and her devoted staff and friends of many years, Denise Tatum, Penny Knutson, and Christine Douville. They, along with all of us at Canyon Creek Day School, plan to keep Claire’s legacy and vision alive for many years to come.
