Enrichment Programs Begin This Week

We have so many exciting enrichment classes this year! We are offering Art, Ballet, Chess, Amazing Athletes, Math, and Hip Hop/Cheer. New this year are Writer’s Workshop and Person to Person. Private tutoring and piano lessons begin this week as well.

Canyon Creek Art Studio begins Tuesday with art instructor, Angela Lamb. Mrs. Lamb will be taking her students on an artistic adventure as they study the art of Japan, Italy, Germany, Egypt and many other countries. They will create their own masterpieces and explore many materials and techniques. Ballet also begins Tuesday. Linda Guilick will help young dancers develop poise, confidence, and grace as they learn classical ballet and French terminology. In our new public speaking class, Person to Person, students will explore different ways to channel creativity and energy into confident speaking and self-expression with Abigail Birkett.

On Wednesday, Amazing Athletes begins. Children learn the fundamentals of different sports and focus on fitness, coordination, speed, and agility. Also on Wednesday, Kindergarten teacher Sayber Mitchell begins her Advanced Math class. Ms. Mitchell’s students will develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills while learning fractions, geometry, and solving word problems.

Students will be taking it to the streets and movin’ and groovin’ when Hip Hop Dance and Cheer classes begin on Thursday.

Due to the Labor Day Holiday, Chess and Writer’s Workshop will begin Monday, September 15. Chessmaster Igor Kravitz teaches chess to enhance abstract thought, self-confidence, problem solving, and memory function. Pre-Kindergarten teacher Kathy Birkett will focus on organization, interpretation, and vocabulary in the creative writing class, Writer’s Workshop.
